Our qualified trainers have lived experience of disability and Deaf culture. Their training is a practical exercise-based session, providing the experience of barriers to communication and best practice communication tips. The training raises awareness of appropriate language and assistance; how people with disabilities access information and true-life scenarios to demonstrate reasonable adjustments.

Disability Awareness Training

We deliver disability awareness and equality training courses that are designed to meet the learning needs of the people taking part, linked to their working role and workplace. The training can be provided in-house or in our accessible premises or remotely online.

Disability in the Workplace Training

This training is designed to assist employers to create an inclusive workplace. The session will explain the Definition of Disability and how disability is assessed to inform the why and how to make Reasonable Adjustments in the workplace.

Our qualified trainers have lived experience of disability and Deaf culture and the barriers and solutions in the workplace. They will provide examples of best practice communication, true life reasonable adjustment case studies and Access to Work support to attendees.

More Than Words – Accessible Information Training

We create alternative format documentation for businesses, these alternative formats include visual guides, easy read guides and audio books. We also provide practical exercise based training to groups or one on one on why and how to create accessible information.

These sessions demonstrate the impact of barriers to accessing information for disabled people and members of the Deaf Community. Attendees will learn the basic rules to meet legislative information standards when creating easy-to-understand information for customers and staff.

How to Run Inclusive Meetings Workshop

We run accessible meetings all the time both from our accessible offices or online. Let our experienced team train you and your staff on how to prepare and facilitate inclusive meetings such as service user steering groups / consultations and staff meetings with disabled staff / volunteers.

Attendees will learn about the barriers faced by disabled people in meetings, how to plan and facilitate an inclusive meeting and have a great understanding of the importance of making reasonable adjustments to meetings for attendees with disabilities.

Safeguarding Training – An Introduction

This practical exercise based session provides information on the law and legislation behind safeguarding. The session includes group work identifying the signs to look out for considering true life scenarios related to safeguarding experiences.

Those attending the training will be able to understand what safeguarding is and their role in safeguarding adults. They will have the knowledge of policy, procedures and legislation that supports safeguarding activity, and will also be able to recognise an adult or child potentially in need of safeguarding and how to take action.
